Founded in 1892, Takazawa Candle has been crafting traditional Japanese candles in Nanao, Noto, Ishikawa for generations.

The wax used in the “Rousoku Tohaku” candles is made from the fruit of the haze tree, a member of the sumac family grown in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture.

By making and selling candles from haze tree wax, we hope to support the planting and preservation of these trees and help protect the beautiful autumn scenery created by their vibrant red leaves.

Please note: The colour of the candles is completely natural. Depending on the harvest year, age, and exposure to sunlight, the wax may gradually develop a whitish appearance over time.
