“I cannot recommend it enough if you have a hankering for a relaxing environment and exploring village life. Book for longer than you'd usually plan, because you won't want to leave.”

“Wonderful stay in Akitsu. Beautiful and welcoming room. Kudos to Nikita for this bed and breakfast/coffee shop in the heart of the countryside, not far from Lake Biwa and about an hour from Kyoto.”

“My fiancé and I recently stayed in the Akitsu guesthouse for a few days and it was one of the highlights of our 2 week Japan trip. The owner, Nikita, was an incredible host, giving us great recommendations for things to do and making our stay so lovely. We had breakfast and some of the best coffee I’ve had in the shop below the guesthouse each morning and spent some time talking with Nikita. The guesthouse is stunning with tatami flooring, a futon that’s almost too cozy to get out of in the morning, a great nook if you are working remotely or need a desk space, and an extremely relaxing bath, making the space so comfortable and welcoming.”
